You can study Christ for years and still miss Him. But when you begin to learn Him, Truth itself takes hold of you.
Study text: Ephesians 4:17-23
1. Learning Christ (vv. 20–21)
- To learn Christ is to abide, not acquire.
- The path: hearing → learning → becoming (John 10:27; Matthew 11:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18).
- Truth is not a concept but a Person — “Truth is in Jesus.”
2. Life Apart from Truth (vv. 17–19)
- Without revelation, humanity loses divine orientation (Romans 1:21–25).
- Depravity is alienation from God, not just moral failure.
- Only Christ restores the mind to truth.
3. Renewal through the Spirit (vv. 22–24)
- Put off / put on = identity, not performance (Romans 13:14).
- Renewal is Trinitarian: Father designs, Son embodies, Spirit renews.
- Holiness is received, not achieved (Galatians 4:19).
4. Living This Reality
- Church: a community of renewal and witness (John 17:18–21).
- Individual: disciplines as dependence, not duty.
- Mission: renewed lives call the lost to Truth (2 Timothy 2:21; 2 Corinthians 5:18–20).
