From Election to Worship (Romans 11)
1. Grace Defines God’s People – not Heritage or Works
- A remnant exists because of grace alone, not lineage or effort (Romans 11:5–6)
- Even Israel must come through personal faith in Christ (Romans 10:12–13)
- Works and grace are mutually exclusive as a basis for salvation (Romans 11:6)
2. God Uses Rejection to Advance Redemption
- Israel’s stumbling opens the door for Gentile salvation (Romans 11:11)
- Gentile faith is meant to provoke Israel to envy (Romans 11:14)
- God weaves failure into a larger plan of global redemption
3. We Stand by Faith Alone – Therefore Walk in Humble Reverence
- We are grafted in by grace, not by merit (Romans 11:17–18)
- The only ground for remaining is faith, not works (Romans 11:20)
- Grace produces humility and reverent awe, not arrogance
4. God’s Faithfulness to Israel Reveals His Unsearchable Wisdom
- Israel is not rejected forever – there is future restoration (Romans 11:25–26)
- God’s gifts and calling are irrevocable (Romans 11:29)
- His plan surpasses human understanding and ends in worship (Romans 11:33)
Application: Live by Grace, Stand by Faith, End in Worship
- Where am I subtly relying on works or performance instead of resting in God’s grace?
- Is my walk with God marked more by humble gratitude or by unnoticed spiritual pride?
- In what area of my life do I struggle to trust God’s wisdom right now?
- What would it look like for me this week to choose worship instead of needing answers?
